What is a computer?

A computer is like a machine, it is called a computer in the Latin language,
meaning a calculator. and is capable of returning as output after processing it, it
saves the output after performing mathematical and operational operations, it
works on numeric and non-numeric code and the future Represents it in bit form
for use with

Computer hardware and software

Apart from creating applications, it is designed for many other tasks, it executes its tasks with the help of various language programs, along with the option of memory in the computer which can be programmed after processing. Computer hardware consists of wires, transistors, circuits, hard disk, etc., while programs and data are called software .

What is a computer

Those basic parts of a computer without which the computer is not able to work.

Processor:

It executes software and hardware instructions.

Memory:RAM

It is the primary memory for data transfer between CPU and storage.

Motherboard:

This is the part that connects all the other parts or components of the computer.

Storage Device:

It stores data permanently, eg, a hard drive.

Input Device:

This allows you to communicate with the computer or input data, such as a keyboard.

Output Device:

This enables you to view the output, eg, monitor.

Computers are Divided into Different

Computers are Divided into Different types based on different scales. Based on size, computers can be divided into five categories:
Micro Computer *
Mini Computer *
Mainframe Computer *
Super Computer *
Workstations *

1.Micro Computer: (Micro Computer)
The first microcomputer was built with 8-bit microprocessor chips. It is a general-purpose computer intended for a single user, with lower speed and storage capacity than other types. It uses a microprocessor as the CPU.
Microcomputers typically include laptops, desktop computers, personal digital assistant devices, tablets, and smartphones. A microcomputer is usually for general use such as browsing, searching for information, internet, MS Office, social media, etc.

2:Mini Computer Mini

computers are also known as “midrange computers”. This computer is not designed for one. It is a multi-user computer designed to support multiple users simultaneously. Therefore, they are generally used for small businesses and firms. Individual departments of a company use these computers for specific purposes. For example, a university admissions department may use a minicomputer to monitor the admissions process.

3:Mainframe Computer

It is also a multi-user computer capable of supporting thousands of users simultaneously. They are used by a large number of firms and government organizations to run their business processes as they are capable of storing large amounts of data. For example, banks, universities, and insurance companies use mainframe computers to store data on their customers, students, and policyholders, respectively.

4:Super Computer
Supercomputers are the fastest and most expensive of all types of computers. They have large storage capacity and very fast computing speed and thus can execute millions of instructions every second. Supercomputers are task-specific and thus are used for specialized applications such as large-scale numerical problems in scientific and engineering disciplines including electronics, petroleum engineering, weather forecasting, medicine, space exploration, and more. For example, NASA uses supercomputers to launch and control space satellites for monitoring and space exploration.

5: Workstation
This is a user computer. Although it is similar to a personal computer, it has a more powerful microprocessor and a higher quality monitor than a microcomputer. In terms of storage capacity and speed, it falls between a personal computer and a mini computer. Workstations are typically used for specialized applications such as desktop publishing, software development, and engineering design.

Benefits of Using a Computer

Increase in working speed
A computer increases the speed of your work. For example, after a basic understanding of a word processor, you can easily and quickly create, edit, store and print documents.

Internet
The Internet allows you to send emails, browse content, get information, use social media platforms and more. By connecting to the Internet, you can also connect with your far-flung friends and family members.

Storage:
A computer allows you to store large amounts of information, for example, you can store your projects, ebooks, documents, movies, photos, songs and more.

Organized data and information:
You have a lot of different types of data on your computer, and you can store your data separately in different folders, making it easy to find when you need it.

Improves your skills:
It helps to write good English if you are not good with spelling and grammar. Likewise, if you’re not good at math, and you don’t have a great memory, you can use a computer to do calculations and store the results.

Help the physically challenged:
It can be used to assist the physically challenged, for example, it can also be used to assist the blind by installing special software to read what is on the screen.

Entertains you:
You can use computer to listen to songs, watch movies, play games and many more. Computer has become a part of our life.

There are many tasks in our daily life in which we take help of computer. Some common examples are as follows:

ATM:
While withdrawing cash from an ATM, you are using a computer that enables the ATM to take instructions and send cash accordingly.

Digital Currency:
A computer keeps a record of your transactions and your account balance, and the money deposited in your bank account is stored as a digital record or digital currency.

Business:
Stock markets use computers for daily trading. Many modern algorithms are computer-based that handle trades without involving humans.

Smartphone:
The smartphone we use throughout the day for calling, texting, browsing is itself a computer.
